RSS Reader

Abstract: The RSS reader is written in C#, running under the .Net FrameWork 1.1. It uses the SharpSkin to display RSS items as they appear. The Reader focuses on notification, and does not have an extensive overview of messages.

License: The RSS Reader and the SharpSkin library is released under the GNU Lesser Public License (LGPL).

Platform: Due to the SharpSkin library's calls to the Alpha blending functions in Windows©, the applicaition will only run under Windows XP/2000 or newer. Apart from the SharpSkin library, all code is 100% managed, and may run on linux. (Linux/MONO compatibility not tested).

Pricing: You may use this program for free, also commercially.

Features: The RSS Reader will read Feeds, based on RSS 2.0, or the Atom standard.
The userinterface is very minimalistic, yet has support for displays with eye-candy.
Easy and simple handling of feeds.
Non-intrusive, may be installed alongside another RSS Reader.
Easy to create new skins.
